The School of Workforce Development at Hocking College is pleased to offer Ready-to-Work programming and Pre-Apprenticeship Training at the Fairfield County Workforce Center. Students who participate in Ready-to-Work courses or Pre-Apprenticeship Training Programs gain the skills necessary to apply for entry-level positions in their respective fields.
Earn your NATE Ready-to-Work Certificate in less than 8 weeks! The NATE Ready-to-Work Program is a non-credit course designed to cultivate new technicians into the industry with the essential skills needed to start a career in HVAC. Topics include: Employability Skills, HVACR Applied Math, Building Systems, Basic Hand and Power Tools, Intro to HVAC Systems, and OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety. NATE Ready-to-Work Exam is included.
Complete this introductory Phlebotomy course in just 6 weeks! This non-credit course provides an introduction to the Medical Laboratory Profession (MLT), safety in the lab, OSHA, universal precautions, lab equipment, quality control, maintenance, and phlebotomy. Basic blood collection techniques by venipuncture and capillary sticks will be covered and practiced in the laboratory under supervision. Students who complete this course may earn the following industry-recognized credential: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) through National Health Career Association (NHA).
Earn your Class B Commercial Driver License in less than two weeks! A Class B CDL lets you drive a single vehicle weighing 26,001 pounds or more without a trailer. It also allows you to operate any vehicle towing a trailer that weighs less than 10,000 pounds. The following are some of the types of vehicles that may be driven with a Class B: straight trucks, buses, box trucks (including delivery trucks and furniture trucks), and qualifying dump trucks. Note: this list is not exhaustive and additional endorsements may be required for some vehicles
